I live in central Illinois, and would like to start my own resale shop. If anyone has any info on getting start up money, like through a grant, that would be great. Thanks

Now, I don't know how good the following site is. But, it may ba a place to start. http://www.govloans.gov/govloans_en.portal There's also the possibility of trying the following searches. government loans for businesses - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=government+loans+for+businesses) and Illinois loans for businesses - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=Illinois+loans+for+businesses)

I have searched relentlessly to find some type of grant to start a small business and most of what I've found are technical or schooling grants I contacted the economic development for small businesses in my state and they said that most grants are not for individuals trying to start a business but are for government agencies and nonprofit organizations
There are grants for individuals but you have to meet certain qualifications for them
You should try to contact your local Small Business Administration SBA.org - Small Business Loans and more. (http://www.sba.org) for more information in your state about it and they might be able to point you in the right direction or a program called SCORE SCORE | Counselors to America's Small Business | SCORE (http://www.score.org) they have a lot of info on loans and so on your local chamber of commerce might have information that you might find useful
