First, you originally posted this in the Introductions forum which is clearly marked as not a question area. So its been moved to the Careers forum.

Second, are you still in school? Your Guidance Counselor can help you with aptitude tests and other advice.

At thirty, you should already have an established career path. What have you done for a living thus far?

In general, the careers that suit one best are the careers that provide opportunities to do the things one likes to do. For example, a people person would be happiest in a career where there's a lot of contact with people; a person who likes fixing things would be happiest in a career where he/she can do so; a person who is easily bored would be happiest in a job with a lot of variety. If you're a book person, a book that I've found useful in helping people in the past is Do What You Are (http://tinyurl.com/27ctnw), which asks some simple questions about your Myers-Briggs Personality Type then provides detailed information for each type including the sort of job characteristics you probably need to be happy with a job, and a list of suggested careers. You can probably find this book at your local library or bookstore.

If you'd rather take a test and be provided with a list of suggested careers to investigate based on what it is you'd like to do, I'd suggest the Self Directed Search (SDS) (http://www.self-directed-search.com/), which costs 9.95USD and is one of the standard tests used by career counselors. This will tell you the things you'd *like* to do... aptitude for them is a different matter. :-)
