Hi,
Well, this is my first post, and I'm hoping to get some answers. First let me begin by saying I have no health ins. I can't afford it! In the last year and a half, I've had this waist ache 3 times... the first two, lasted about a week, and then it vanishes for a few months... this last episode now, started on Aug. 21, the first day of my period, and has continued ON AND OFF since then. For example, yesterday, I was OK, I felt good... but then, about 10PM, IT STARTED AGAIN! For no real reason, I hadn't picked up anything heavy, or bent over, or whatever. When this happens, I get this "sick" feeling that goes along with it. It makes me feel kind of queasy, and it can sometimes feel as though there's a spasm in there, aroudn the waist area. This ache, feels very deep, and it can make my ribs on that side feel sore too, then it wraps around the waist to the lower back, and now, the most recent development is that it now, begins to ache up the back as well.
Sometimes, when this happens, my abdomen becomes distended and gassy, and it feels as if you don't want to eat, because a little while after I eat, this waist ache bothers me even more. It does feel as though it also edges into towards my abdomen a little too.
My husband had suggested it was muscular, but if that were so, then why would I feel queasy, and why would I feel it worse after I eat? A friend of mine had suggested IBS, and said that sometimes she gets that feeling around the waist too, but not very often, hers is mainly in her abdomen. Are the intestines all the way over by your waist?!
I don't think so. Unless, perhaps, my intestines due to IBS, could be aggravated, or irritated and maybe puff out a little, and so, extend over to the waist? I don't know what to think. Ususually if I take TYLENOL PM, it will help it, and make me drowsy. That didn't happen last night, I took the tylenol, and it took away SOME of the ache, but not all... and I barley got drowsy. I went in and out of restless sleep, and I could feel the darn ache when I'd wake up. There are times when it helps to lay on that side, and times when laying on that side is NOT GOOD, so I lay on my right side, and even still, I can feel that ache. I don't have a fever, I DO have an appetite, I AM up and about, but this waist ache, which also seems to extend down to the left hip as well, is SICKENING, that's the feeling... SICKENING. I can touch it, I can press in on it, and it'll feel WEIRD and kind of give me a SICK feeling, but it's not PAINFUL. I went to the ER on Sept. 9th, they did a urinalysis, and they said it was normal, no blood in the urine or whatever, so they felt it wasn't my kidney. I am 49 yrs. Old, I KNOW I'm in PERIMENOPAUSE, which means that my hormones are all over the place, and I know how that affects EVERYTHING! I know the hormonal changes definatley affect the muscles, but I'm not sure this IS muscular.
Does anyone here have this, and what do you think this is... I feel like I'm at my wits end!
Thank you! Cinderella29
