My husband has a daughter from a previous relationship. She left him when she was five months pregnant. Since I was with my husband we have seen his daughter maybe 6 times in the last three years. His daughter is now 5 and in kindergarten. He call she won't answer. She won't give him an address. He gives money when he see her, like 400 or 500 dollar each time. I have a son with him and he is the best father a kid could ask for. Could you tell me how my husband could see his daughter more offen?

Hello daly:

Sounds like there's no custody order in place. He needs to go to court to get one. If there is one, he needs to go back to court to get it changed.

The only way you can force more visitation is with a court order. This means a custody hearing with a request for visitation rights. Once you have the court order, you can force the issue. But be prepared, if you take this step the court may also ordered child support and even back support.

Has there been a visitation order established? If not then your husband should go to court and get one.
