All I can remember is a boy being taken away from his mom in a clear barrel by NASA guys dressed in white suits. Something about doing experiments on him was needed or something. Please help me out if possible.

Could this be from part of "Flight of the Navigator?" Or perhaps towards the end of "E.T.?"

It sounds like "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble" (based on a true story of a boy born with an immune deficiency. Could this be it?

You should post your question in a separate thread because otherwise it can get overlooked.

However... your movie is Spellbinder (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096152/) from 1988.

Sounds to me like E.T. The Boy in the Plastic Bubble ends with John Travolta leaving his "bubble" and riding a horse with a girl. Wonderful movie.

(Kellierhoden I didn't realize you were the mouth piece for the op!) - look at this at the 1min 15 sec point through the 1min 23 second point. To me, it looks like guys in suits taking a little boy from his mother through a clear white tube. Hmmm, are you sure jonnyskull isn't looking for E.T.

(By the way this thread is like three years old - I'm sure jonnyskull has moved on to bigger and brighter things!)

It is not the flight of the navigator that was when he was taken but aliens went to nasa on his own not taking buy force the movie you are thinking of was D.A.R.Y.L

D.A.R.Y.L. never involved him being quarantined while being moved, NASA, or even Hazmat suits (unless my memory is seriously flawed), D.A.R.Y.L. was an escaped DoD funded experiment and he was found and brought by the lead scientists pretending to be his parents.
In Flight of the Navigator David also wasn't quarantined while moved as I recall, though he was taken to be tested by NASA. E.T. would be most likely, I don't recall a scene at all similar in Mac & Me either.

It's Called D.A.R.Y.L. I'm pretty sure. Good movie, and if it's not I would recommend it. ;)

I'll toss in another suggestion since the cover art shows the boy in a barrel, which he arrived in when delivered to the wrong place.

Konrad (1985 TV movie)
IMDb review:
Meet Konrad (Huckleberry Fox), a loveable little boy. He's a genetically-engineered "Instant Child", mass-produced in a factory, brainwashed by oppressive "trainers" to become docile, loyal, and respectful to elders, then vacuum-sealed in a pop-top can for ease of storage and delivery. S,o what happens when eccentric rug-maker Berti Bartelotti (Polly Holiday) gets him by mistake?. Won over by his ingrained cuteness, she keeps little Konrad as her very own, while she and her boyfriend, known only as Mr. Thomas (Ned Beatty), haggle over the right to dote upon him like he was some sort of toy they were sharing. Meanwhile, factory owner Dr. Monford (Max Wright of ALF fame), is upset that Konrad got accidentally placed in an unfit environment and sends his elite cadre of bumbling security guards to "recall" and "recycle" their perfect child.. . Our heroes track down the kidnapped Konrad to the "factory", a dystopian monochromatic school.

I don't have a clear memory of this one, so I can't swear that they take him away in the barrel he arrived in. // They have a couple of parts on YouTube; I couldn't find the other five segments that are supposed to be there:
