I am replacing an old rooftop a/c unit in my condo in Tallahassee, FL. I have been given a quote for a Payne 2 TON 13 SEER R22 refrigerant in the amount of $2972, $3190 w/ heat pump. For $3590 I can have a Bryant 2 ton 13 SEER R10 w/ heat pump installed instead. Being that I'm in Florida, do you think a heat pump is really that necessary? I gets a bit chilly in the winter months and I'd like to be able to keep the condo cozy.
Do these prices seem fair to you?( I plan to sell the condo 2 years from now.)
Thanks-ALGB

If it gets cool and you have no heat source, I would go with the heat pump. Prices vary from area to area. Best to get 2-3 bids to make a fair comparison
