I am breaking a 6 mo lease that I signed one month ago, due to many problems I have experienced with my living situation and the major factor of my upstairs neighbor being loud unruly, drug trafficking etc. I am pregnant and don't think I should be around his marijauna smoking sprees that fill up my living room. Is this a reasonable excuse in itself to be breaking a lease? Also our "property manager" who is just the owner of the condos, daughter with no real rights to rent this place right? I asked her for a copy of our lease because the one we have does not say anywhere on it 6 month lease, it states more than once month to month, the copy she has says 6 month lease but it was not copied onto our copy, ran off. So I go get the copy of the lease and she going over the lease with me and shows me that there is no refund available for the pet deposit. I checked over my original lease and the lease I signed does not say non refundable, so there for she has altered the original lease and the new copy she is giving me, and trying to lie to me about it. Is this just something else that I can push further if this does go to court which she wants to avoid? So I told her that I wanted out in 30 days with my full deposit and pet deposit back and a document from the owner stating that there will be no consequences and we are breaking this lease mutually. Tell me what you think of this situation.

I got to say if your lease says it more then once then your on a month to month bases then your off the hook I been in that same place I know your going crazy yes you should get your refund back your full refund as well as your pet refund. If u have to you should take further actions on this if you don't get your refund and everything else that belongs to you. I went to court and the judge order that the renter pay us the refund that is owed to us in a heart beat. Take your lease and everything that's wrong in that place take notes or even pictures if you can. If u need any help please write back again thxs and good luck!!

Whose copy is signed? That's the one that will govern. Any changes that are not initialed will be invalid.

If you can document the abuses, you may be able to prove it was an uninhabitable situation.
