Crap that may be! How do I tell if the coil is good? I put an ohm meter across the spark leads. I think it said 4 ohms? I'm bidding on a manual for it on eBay. How do I do the gap. I pretty much just unbolted it and bolted the new one in it's place. I did put a connection on the otherwise bare wire going to it from the key. Thanks a lot!

If the wire from the key is bare, you are not going to get a spark. That wire activates the kill function. Did you install the coil upside down? To gap the coil a simple method is to place the magnets at the position where the coil is going to mount, hold a business card against the magnets, then set the coil up to the mounting area. The magnets will pull the coil to the business card, tighten the bolts here.
Also, remove the small black wire, (kill wire) and try and turn over the engine. Did you get a spark? If so, hook it back up and try again, if no spark, you have a problem with the kill wire. Trace the kill wire, remove and replace it from the coil to the grounding screw or bolt.
