I was trying to put my database back on p.c from a floppy and opened with wordpad instead of Microsoft access. Now all I get is lots of squares and syblols instead of words can anyone help so desprate. Many many thanks

If your trying to open an Access doc in word, it shudn't work! You must export the data base into a format that your version of word will be able to understand. Its no good trying to open things created in 1 app in another app because it just doesn't work like that. Every program is different! But with that, most Microsoft programs will let you cross link document/ data base's so that you can manage them in more then 1 Program.

It also depends on the database type. And what the data base is for.
