We had a storm pass by with eletrical surges. Power was out for 24+ hrs. When I went back to start furnace, blower or furnace would not start when I set the thermostat to auto. Replace 5amp fuse on blower board. Still no action from blower or furnace (gas). Model Heil NTC6075 about 5 year old.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Tom

Check the breaker for the furnace. Even if it looks OK, turn it all the way to off and back on. Then go to the board, and check the terminals for the thermostat wires. If you do not have 24 volts between the R and B or C terminals, the transformer may be bad. They are a common item, hardwares, Radio Shack, etc.

I wasn't so lucky a few years ago. I ended up putting a new $300 board. I also hardwired in varistors to stop power surges.
