I had a bad drug habbit since I was 16. Ive done a lot of stupid stuff really I have. Im being charged with something I did roughly 6 months ago in a desperation for a high and money.

I wrote a check from a credit card company filled it all out falsy. Now Im caught and being charged with fraud under 5k.

I offered restitution months back but the individual basically didn't reply or say anything.

I cleaned my life up as I found out I was to be a dad about 2 and a half months ago.

What can I do?

I have a promise not to show up in court. Lawyer told me to go in say I need time and enter no plea at this time. Ive never been charged with anything but have had complaints no charges.

This is my first charge no previous charges except a motor vehicle act issue.

Im 25 now.

If you have a lawyer, DO what he says. However, IF all you have is some schmuck giving you free advice, IGNORE IT!

I don't know what a "promise not to show up" is. But, it doesn't sound like something you should DO.

Did you put your offer of restitution in writing (I hope?) Take a copy of that to court with you. Continue to follow your attorney's advice and follow his direction. Make it know that you've offered to make restitution but received no response.
