Hi
I have a question that may seem strange, but my problem has been going on for too long.
Is it possible for fruit flies or something that looks like it, to live on my head or hair?
I ask this because these flies seem to follow me everywhere for about a 2 years now. If I'm asking this it is because it has taken a toll on my social life. I don't wear scented products, wear deodorant, bathe everyday, so hygiene is in check. I know people can see them but just remain polite about it. Ive asked my doctor but said there is no such thing. Please help!

Try some of that head lice shampoo treatment, it's pretty pungent. Are you male or female? If you're a male, maybe try shaving your head. It may not be your normal look, but it's worth a try.

Oh I'm female... I don't think I want to shave my head
And my doctor, well didn't look, just said there is no such thing as flies living on humans

I think women with a shaved head is sexy myself, remember one from a movie.
But why did your doctor not see them if they are there ? Who is seeing them,

Would it be worthwhile to re-evaluate everything.

Remove all spices from your diet for starters, and treat your hair as someone suggested, just in case there are eggs attached to the hair strands.

Change the soaps you wash your clothes in, the toothpaste you brush your teeth with, and throw away all hair brushes, combs, clips, scrunchies, etc.

It's possible you are bringing them with you. Thourougly clean with bleach, all bedding, including blankets, pillows, throws, scatter rugs, curtains.

Vacuum thouroughly, and discard the bag.

Toss all fruit and vegetables in the trash, and sanitize the bins and shelves in the fridge.

Buy a new garbage can for inside the house, and outside.

Spray around the windows and doors with an insect repellant.

On the outside, spray the premises, or have a professional in to do it, particularly if you have cedars.

I would also visit a holistic/alternative medicine/health food store as well. Most likely they have heard this question before. I know Avon's Roses Roses products repelled flying insects really well, but I've checked and the scent is no longer available, at least here in Canada. You can buy rosewater and glycerine at any pharmacy.

There is most likely something you can injest, some herb or maybe vitamin as someone has suggested, that may emit no smell but would not be attractive to the pests.

I'm not so sure that they 'find' you, but rather that they come 'with' you wherever you go. Might be a good idea to have your winter clothes dry cleaned, and spray your boots, hats, mitts etc. before you put them away for the winter.

You've probably already done much if not all of the above, but surely there has to be something to stop this. Would your Doctor recommend a specialist? Maybe a dermatologist?

I am embarrassed I have to say I have been suffering from the same problem. My doctor(s) also tell me the same things... Still haven't resolved this problem... I smell poinient... And cannot get a job through fear of spreading disease.People fall ill after being around me.

Sounds bizarre I know, but this has begun to ruin my life socially and mentally... I have been diagnosed as having bpd and hallucinations.

Any useful advice would be much appreciated... May I just add this is not due to a lack of hygiene... I believe I was bitten at a friends some year ago and this is now the result. Please comment if anyone has any info on how to get back to some Normality .Thankyou!

You guys should check out this link, it starts talking about morgellons cure, then talks about bugs which crawl out of the skin and look like fruitflies, and he has created a cure. http://youtu.be/xBw5qF7c-kc < just take the period out of the YouTube, in the link and if that doesn't work just put YouTube in your address bar followed by the slash(/) and the numbers/letters which identify the video.
