I am in the process of filing for divorce. I recently found out that my spouse took out a loan for a four-wheeler and a consolidation loan for our credit cards. I was never notified by the lenders that my husband had been granted these loans. Am I still liable for paying half of them.

Hi,
You need to ask your lawyer about these debts.
Generally, if a debt is in both names, such as "and, or", then you are liable for half.
But again, check with your lawyer. I do hope you are not trying to settle this divorce, or file for it, without a lawyer!
Best of luck,

If you were never notified by the lenders that your husband was granted these loans, then you obviously didn't sign for them, so you should not be responsible for paying any part of them. Only loans for which you yourself signed can be held against you. If you are the sole signer then you are totally responsible for the full amount. If you co-signed with your husband, then you and he are each responsible for paying half or whtever portion is allocated to each of you as the result of your pending negotiated divorce proceedings. If a creditor tries to collect from you and you did not sign for the debt, that should be enough to release you from any liability. Consult with an attorney for full information.
