I just found out that I am pregnant a week ago, so I haven't seen my doctor yet. I'm wondering if my daily medication of Levoxyl (75 mcg) will interfere with the babies health?

Also, since we were not trying & it was a surprise to us... I was consuming alcohol up until the day I found out! How many weeks is it safe before the baby attaches and starts absorbing nutrients or any alcohol?

No your thyroid medication will not interfere. However be sure to talk to your endocrinologist. You are at a higher risk for miscarriage and a cervix that refuses to close due to the hypothyroidism. Your doctors are going to have to monitor your TSH, T3 & T4 levels very closely potentially every month if not every 6 weeks.

The baby attached and begins consuming nutrients from the mother as early as 7 days.

If you have stopped drinking then good for you, things should be fine, but let your doctor know so that he can chart it and watch for any potential problems. Really shouldn't be any though, but he should still know.

As for the thyroid med. It is perfectly okay to take, I'm not going to repeat what Glinda said, she is right.. Again, just let your doctor know.
