My spouse and I have been living together for 5 yrs. I work and collect an income from his business. His most recent will does not provide for me. What are my rights, if anything should something happen to him?:

If he has specifically written you out of his will then you have very little rights. You would still be entitled you any assets you hold as joint tnenants with right of survivorship. Also are you the beneficiary of any life insurance? He might have provided for you that way so these things would be yours outside the estate.

Thanks, Scott, but I don't think that's a given. He has many assests and 2 spoiled daughters. If anyone has any ideas on commonlaw rights in Ontario, please advise.

I typed in "common in law rights+Ontario" and there is a whole page of links. For example:

Ontario Family Law Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ontario_Family_Law_Act)
Family Law Toronto :: Common Law:: www.familylawtoronto.com (http://www.familylawtoronto.ca/common_law.html)
Estate Planning and Common-Law Spouses (http://www.professionalreferrals.ca/article-380.html) - estate planning and common in law spouses

Your best avenue of action may well be to contact a legal representative and find out what exact rights you have or do not have.
