Help... My son is in the 4th grade, and should be in 5th. Even as far back as kindergarten he didn't care to conform...

He never should have passed 2nd or 3rd grade either and now 4th grade is no better. I am pregnant and he is making me crazy... How do I make him care... He won't do anything and will test the patience of his teachers until they are ready to freak too...

I used to be like this, I never had any parents to corporally punish me though, so I am not trying to tell you to do this, but if it were for my sake, I wish my parents would have been there to spank me a little bit more, because that would have taught me a few lessons..

Have you tried an award system?
Sometimes a lot of awards have to be given at first,
Then you wean them down to 1 or to a week for good behavior and good effort for school and home work.
