We purchased a 24x52 above ground pool about 4 months ago. We have had a lot of rain and all of the leaves fallling into the pool created algea. We used shock and the algea remover to no avail. I went to a pool supplies store and they informed me that I needed to purchase a bucket of shock and add half of the bucket to the water wait until the next day, vaccuum it out and add a bottle of clear-blu and it would be back to normal. Well we did all of that and it is still very cloudy and looks like it is getting algea again. What are your suggestions?

One of the reasons could be your filter, is it sand, d/e or filters, if it is sand the particles of algea are two small to be trapped by the sand, what you need is a floculating agent, what this does is congeal these particles together making it easier for the sand to trap. On the other hand a chlorine generator does away with all that chemical addition, another benefit is no stinging eyes, no itchy skin and no discoloured clothing or suits. Just do a search on salt chlorine generators and you find lots of them, Australians have been using salt for twenty years.
