My washer drain is overflowing on rinse cycle, I have had the lines rotorooted out twice, they went in from the roof. There is a shower on the same drain and no water is backing up in the shower, so I am thinking that the flow is just too much for the drain to handle. I have also run a water hose in the drain and although it sounds as if it is backing up it never overflows. I have heard about taking the discharge hose and using a compression fitting to attach it to the drain line, is this the best way to fix my problem? There is a problem in that the water valves and drain line are in one of those recessed plastic boxes that fit between the studs.
