Hi All,

I am in the process of lifting an old uneven floor of a basement bathroom, and where the old copper pipe has been bent out of shape to conform with the old cement floor, I now have a new plywood floor about 2" higher.
The plywood has not been fixed in place yet.

I was wondering if anybody knows of a sure fire way to extend and seal this old pipe and give me an extra few inches ( no pun intended) to work with.

Thanks in advance!

Sjef

Story of my life and number one on my "wish list".
Sorry, couldn't resist!

If you have a copper closet bend that's out of round you have two choices to raise the level.
(1) take up the cement floor and install a new closet bend and bring it up to grade--or--
(2) Mount the toilet directly on the new floor using wood screw type closet bolts and a wax ring with a built in funnel to direct the discharge past the floor line.
Good luck, Tom

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the information, I opted to to use a lead extension similar to your second suggestion.
Just feel a touch uncomfortable not knowing if I created a proper seal or not.

Perhaps in this situation it is less critical being in the basement of the home.

Anyhow, thanks again, really appreciate such a quick response!
