I'am a female with a house the lease is only in my name. I 'am trying to find out how to legally in raleigh North Carolina evict my 2 male roomates who are not on the lease as soon as possible... please help?? I heard that I could type up a notice then give each of them and I a copy then post a 3rd copy on the courthouse bulletin, and that would be it no court proceeedings with this, is this true..?

No its not true. You are their landlord since the lease is solely in your name. Since you have no written agreement with them you have a periodic lease. The period depends on when rent is paid. If its paid weekyl then the lease is week to week. If paid monthly, is month to month. This means that you (or they) can terminate the agreement with notice equal to one full rental period. So if its monthly, you need to serve them notice in writing, that you are terminating the agreement effective 10/30 and they should be out by that date. If they haven't moved by that date (or if you have already given then notice and they haven't moved. You have to give them a 3 day notice to vacate. If they still haven't gone, then you have to file a petition in court to evict them. They are then entitled to a hearing at which the judge will order them out by x date. If they still don't leave, you hire a sheriff to forcibly remove them and their belongings.
