On different boards I have come across many people who either don't believe in God as a whole, or people who believe in God but don't believe the Bible is the Word of God.
People who have no respect for things and people who are respectable.
People who call Christians ignorant for having faith in God and/or the Bible when they themselves are ingnorant to faith in God and/or the Bible because they have none.
People who knock Christian's references when theirs is no more valid and received the same way ours is.
People who focus a lot of time and energy searching for proof to back up their unbelief instead of focusing on what they do believe in.
People who spend a lot of time and energy studying, talking about, questioning and criticizing something they don't even believe in period.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with gaining knowledge about anything and everything. Including things you disagree with or do not believe in. But there is a difference in sating curiousity and learning for malicious reasons.

I don't believe in reincarnation. I know the simplest basics about reincarnation and that's the length of my desire for knowledge in reincarnation. I don't care to know the in depth details. My time is better spent learning more about the things I do believe in. I have zero desire for learning with intent to prove why I believe reincarnation is unbelievable.

I know what some of you are thinking and I will say it before you can write it... Everyone isn't like me. I know this, just as I know why I don't have any desire to learn in depths to other beliefs, but this leads me to my question, which is really just a thought that can be answered.

I wonder if these people ever wonder why it is they care so much?

As a non-believer in the Christian teachings of trinity and Jesus (alaihi salaam)being God.I ask questions from Christians on a need to know basis.
It does not change my beliefs, nor does it lessen my faith, it just increases my belief in my religious teachings.

I also ask about atheism because I do not really know much about it.Now I know a lot more than I knew before, but it increases my faith in my beliefs not lessen it.

Understanding someone's beliefs does not mean that I will accept those beliefs and start living my life according to them.

You are right in that we should learn and study our own beliefs more and try practising it to the best of our abilities,but that does not mean we cannot continue gaining knowledge about different things regarding life and people.

I do agree with you that some who do not believe in God, tend to ask questions just for the sake of asking, for others it might be that they need confirmation that their beliefs are right.Or some of them maybe looking for something they may feel is lacking in their lives.

As for me personally, I like it when people ask questions,because then I would get to at least help them know what my faith is all about,it does not matter if they choose not to believe.That is their choice, in the end I believe they alone are answerable to the Creator for their choices made in this world.

Some of those who ask accusatory question from us believers is because they cannot/do not believe in faith and they cannot understand why a person would rely on an invisible God and follow His guidelines.
They find it hard to accept that there is a life after death,that this life is not all we have.They rely on science to give explanations for everything , when science itself is a study and there is only so much that can be dissected and studied.

Many who do not believe in God think that those who believe are fools for having faith, hence the contempt when asking questions.They feel superior for having discarded what they think are old wives tales and accepted only facts.

I sometimes feel sorry for them because they have such prejudice against the Almighty that they have their hearts closed to so much, that signs from the Almighty are lost on them.

Thanks for bringing up a thought that has come to my mind as well. Yes, their agenda is easy to spot. There is a deference between honestly seeking to understand why a person believes this or that, and just wishing to ridicule believers. I have a great deal of respect for those who respectfully ask honest questions, so to understand what it is that believers believe. Those conversations can be pleasing. The disparaging comments can be tiresome.

The problem with this is not many follow all the guidelines. There are over 600 rules and laws in the OT that most seem crazy to even religious people. Certain rules are followed and most are ignored.


They find it hard to accept that there is a life after death,that this life is not all we have.

Now I know people will have different thoughts on this but I choose to believe this is it, and that's what drives me to make this life the best I can.

I would never think someone was a fool for having faith in their religion. However I think it's very foolish to follow without reading and learning for yourself. Blindly excepting something because it sounds good or because the church you go to has padded seats is not good enough.

I think the beauty of religion is the truth behind it all. There is nothing more interesting than reading the history of all religions. The problem with this for religious people is it will expose some things they won't like.

I really don't care what people believe, I just like debating religion.
