View Full Version : No media for dvd/cd/rw drive

I can't open my dvd/cd drive,but it is glowing or has a light.When I check the properties it says no media, partition style is not applicable.What happen,and what can I do?

Did you recently install this drive yourself?
Did it ever work before this?
I've seen a similar thing happen with IDE hard drives where the access light is on solid but the drive won't boot. That happens when the IDE cable is plugged in the wrong way on one end... not sure if this is a similar issue or not. If the drive worked before this then it probably needs to be replaced.

rdurusan there is no problem with the drive according to the system information,but there is no media and I think no library.I also think it is not mounted.My dvd drive is functional for more than 1 year,until I discover that I cannot open the drive anymore.

My drive is a laptop computer.I think there is no library and no media.It worked well before,until I discovered that I can't open the drive.

You should try and use a CD cleaner, It might be that your lens is dirty.
