Hi I'm a 20 year old male.

For a long time now I've been having these strange sharp pin like pains in my belly, usually at the lower right side - when I see a docter about this he was actually just making jokes and saying it was just wind, this was roughly 2 years ago.

Now starting at about last year going to the bathroom I noticed a slight (a slight!) tint of red on the paper after whiping, studying art I can distinguish color easily, so I'm confident there was some red there. This happened 3 more times up until now, so 4 times wthin the space of a year. (blood was not in the stools as far as I could see, I tried to make sure of this, so I automatically assumed whatever is bleeding is at the "exit"?)

I went back to the docter, he did a minor test, feel the belly and checked other parts of my body, he again said it may just be wind (I was like, your joking right?) after some talk, he ended up prescibing me with cream to treat piles. I actually did not use the cream.

Now recently I have been urinating a lot, and its clearer than normal, I sometimes find that 'my tank' is so full a part of my belly is as hard as rock, but relieved after taking a pee. Could this be a sign of diabetes?

I do eat a lot of chocolate and drink a lot of juice, although I am very thin, I have never gained weight my whole life, no matter how much I eat.

I hope I am observant enough to provide a good deal of information to anyone whilling to help me out, there are a few other problems I'm having, such as mild headaches and "floaters" in my eyesight, also have a yellow tint to the white parts of my eyes which I thought could be jaundice? Anyway that's not what I'm worried about right now :)

I am hoping to study art in college soon, but I'm a little afraid of what this all means, I'm trying not to get depressed, I'm actually very tolorant, none of the symptoms I have annoy me enough to make me want to cry or nothing.

Hm... Sounds like you should seek out another doctor if you feel like the one you have does not take you seriously. I hope he/she at least took blood tests.

I am new to this site, and not a doctor (I am a medical student), but I would ask you a few more questions that may help identify some of you illnesses...

1) how often do you have these abdominal pains?
2) how long does the pain last?
3) Are you having diarrhea or constipation?
4) on a scale 1-10, how severe is the pain?
5) are you taking any medications?
6) what is your height and weight?
7) when do you get "floaters"? Are they associated with headaches and nausea?

From your complaints alone, it sounds like you may be an anxious type of person. You may simply have hemorrhoids and gas as your doc suggests, but I would want to rule out serious conditions such as choledocholithiasis.

Thanks for the reply!

I don't have abdominal pains very often really, they last for about 5 seconds at the most, its just like a sharp stitch.. on a pain scale, if I am doing something such as typing on the computer and it occurs it forces me to stop what I'm doing till the pain goes.. so about 7 :(

No diarrhea or constipation, I never have a loss of appetite either, I could eat allday if there was enough food around lol (I think I have fairly large meals)

I'm not on any medications, I've actually rarely had medication in my whole life, never swallowed a pill before. I am about 5"10 and weigh 9stone.

I have these floaters allways, they're so faint that it can take a little bit of focusing on something for me to notice them. I do get very mild headaches, so mild that I can only JUST tell there's pain, they last about maybe 30 minutes 2 times a week

And in response to the end of what you said, I actually woke up today with pain just under my right shoulderblade, which would relate, ill be seeing a new docter in about 3 days (it takes that long to see a different docter... all on holiday apparently! :( )

OK, some follow-up questions...
1) do you have to urinate frequently? Do you wake up at night to urinate?
2) Does it hurt to urinate?
3) are the floaters in both eyes or just one? What part of your vision is affected?
4) how many pounds is 9 stone (I'm American)
5) is your stool different than usual? What color?

Gas pains are usually "sharp" pains. I would take Gas-X or other OTC medication, and if the pains continue I would follow-up for sure. The short duration of pain is not suggestive of gallbladder disease. "Jaundice" is concerning, but I doubt your doctor would have missed this. It would be suggestive of liver disease or an underlying blood disorder.
Your vision disturbance and urinary symptoms could be related to diabetes, but it is more likely that you have migraine headaches. You should tell your doctor you are concerned about this, and they will check your fasting glucose levels.

9 stone is 126 pounds. I'm American too, but we are taught this conversion in Nursing School.

1 stone = 14 pounds

1 kg = 2.2 pounds

Us women in the states would much rather be weighed in stones or kilograms than pounds. LOL

I thought you said in your original post you were a 20 YO MALE? This is an important distinction- it brings op GYN possibilities.

You are confused. Look at my name, then look at the name of the OP. I am just another person answering this post. I am not the original poster.

1) I do I don't wake up to go though
2) Doesn't hurt
3) Floaters are in both eyes, I also have a red dot in my left eye, I noticed faint red "stains" about 2 weeks back but when I asked friends etc to check they said nothing was there, I'm being silly... but I woke up today, listened to some music and I felt a sharp prick on my left eye, a few hours later when I went to the bathroom there was a red dot on the white part which worries me :/
4) lol oops sorry
5) Seems normal

I had a blood test 2 days ago the results were I have Gilberts Disease? Or something, apparently nothing to worry about and no signs of diabetes. My liver is OK aside from the minor error.

My eye docter couldn't notice any red marks and couldn't explain the faint headaches, he seemed like one of those guys who really hated his job though so it worries me. Im hoping to see a real docter about my eyes asap... the red worries me, even if it is just a dot.
