Had lots of trouble with a remote controlled hampton bay ceiling fan. I removed all the remote circuit board and want to hook it up to a wall switch. All I need is forward one speed. I have four wires and have indentified that two are fwd and two for the reverse. The fan works but needs a push to start. If I had a schematic showing what capacitor to start this fan I would be in business. Thanks Bruce

An add on remote control put the caps in the receiver. The receiver when I looked at it seemed to have 3 SCR's/TRIACS without looking up the p/n and a 5 and 6 uf cap. It would make sense that one triac cntrols one cap and the other triac controls the other. It can the select one, the other or the parallel combination of the two. The third triac would contol the light.

You probably need to identify the wire either going to the triac or cap. Add a cap of a similar size(s). Connect to that lead. The other side of the cap probably gos to HOT.
Be careful. Can't guarantee results.

If you have trouble identifying the components, post a picture of the inside of the remote control.

Add-on remote controls do not have run caps, they only have caps for speed control. Won't work.

I'm sorry but I don't know the pinout, it's different for many fans. You will need to trace your circuit board.

BTW Run caps RARELY connect to hot. Usually to neutral.
