I have a 2 yr. old Frigidaire Gallery 12,000 BTU wall mounted AC unit. It used to work fine but recently stopped blowing cool air. The air coming out of the unit into the room has been about 70 degrees, when it used to be 55 or 60.
A technician inspected the unit and said the unit had a restriction in the system that was preventing the freon from moving around freely. He showed me a tube inside the unit where frost was building up, which is a symptom of the freon bunching up in one place. My landlord supposedly had it fixed. When they reinstalled it, the air was still blowing at 70 degrees.
The place that repaired it now says that it is normal for the unit to only blow 70 degree air.
Am I crazy or is it normal for the unit to blow 70 degree air? Who would pay $600 for an AC unit to blow 70 degree air when a fan does it for $20?
