I signed a six month lease with my landlord then I went to a month to month agreement after the contract expired. My question is since I do not have a contract, is a 30 day notice still binding?

Off the cuff, I'd say yes. Generally the law says that month-to-month rentals can be changed by either side giving a 30-day notice. Now, if your original lease required longer, then you might still be bound to that longer notice, even though it's month-to-month.

As froggy indicated... whatever your original lease required is what applies.

When a lease expires and the tenant remains on a month-to-month basis everything on the original lease remains in effect except the rental term and the rent amount. All of the "rules" stay the same.
