Forgive me if this is not in the right forum, I'll move it if it isn't just let me know.

A supply company recently in business was buying wholesale from other supply companies and selling the product to local contractors. Months later the original supply
Companies are putting liens on peoples homes due to unpaid bills from the company buying wholesale from them. The customers are very upset and called the contractors of course.

The contractors have paid receipts showing they paid in full to the wholesale company. The wholesale company told the contractor on the phone that he couldn't cover his bills because other contractors didn't pay theirs. What does this have to do with the contractor
Who did pay? Not to mention this was 4-6 months ago on 4 different homes. Relationships
Have been ruined and money has been stolen. Is this a criminal law issue? If so, how does the contractor pursue justice?

Thanks.

First I would like to know how the original suppliers could place liens on personal homes because the company THEY sold to defaulted. Those liens are totally invalid and the homeowners should sue the original suppliers who placed them.

The middleman was the customer of the original suppliers. If he didn't pay his bills then there only recourse is to go after him, NOT his customers.

I don't see anything criminal here unless its fraud by the middleman. But the original suppliers WAY overstepped their bounds and can be sued.
