My ex wife was awrded child suport and alimony in an amount that far exceds my income. I now have to request a hearing to show that I cannot pay this amount. I cannot afford an attorney, so I have to so this myself. What do I need to bring as evidence, and how do I convince this judge that this has to be lowered. He told me I was lying in court when my divorce was granted , and refused to look at or believe the evidence presented. My attormey misrepresented me and the bar association is looking into the matter. In the mean time I am behind in support and looking at being incarcerated I guess. I am desperate for answers and help. Also If I am put in jail how long would I be kept there? Can anyone help me Thank you

W2 forms, tax returns, a letter from your employer stating salary, a letter from your CPA, bank statements showing your assets etc.

The problem is this all proves what you claim to make, not what you might be hiding.
