Hello, I have two great dane puppies, sisters and about 12 weeks old. One is doing great, but the other suddenly is refusing to eat. We had her at the vet and they ran tests but everything came out negative. It has been about three days since she has had an actual meal, and we have tried everything: hand-feeding, the canned stuff, everything! She seems to be sleeping a lot and not her "average" self - her personality has changed from a loving, playful puppy to being intimidated, tail-between-the-legs, sleeper. Can anyone help? Before these two, we had another dane that we had to put down at 5 months for health reasons, and we really hope this isn't the case. Any insight is welcome!

I would see another vet today. As you have seen, tempting her with rich food is not solution, it seldom is. It sounds like she is sick. What ever the problem, it could take a turn for worse over the weekend. You will then be on the phone trying to find a vet to see her. Not eating a few days won't hurt her, but what is keeping her from eating may.

You can read through sticky at https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/information-articles-our-dogs-expert-labman-53153.html#post254171 but is it mostly about sorting out sick and overfed dogs. Although overfed Danes won't eat, this sounds to me like she is sick.

I agree with labman. If your vet didn't find anything wrong, it may be that it was too early in the illness for anything to show up, or he/she did not do the proper job. I would get to another vet before the end of the day.
