I have a 2001 Honda CIvic and it has been driving rough. The ABS brake light comes on and off as well as the battery ligtht. Sometimes when I start it the A/C and Radio won't work until I turn it off and restart it. Can someone tell me what this might be? I need help??

Thoughts:

. Ensure battery is fully charged, by placing it on a charger.
. Check all under-dash and under-hood fuses with a test light or multimeter. Here's how:

. Battery and ABS light coming on and off may be related to a failing alternator, so be sure to get it tested. AutoZone and Advance Auto Parts will do this for free.

These first three steps will allow you to establish a "known-good baseline."

. Check for any codes, by attaching a scan tool, to the data link connector under the dash. AutoZone will do this for free.
. Check for any ABS codes, by attaching a scan tool, to the ABS connector under the hood.
. Ensure platinum spark plugs have no more than 50,000 miles on them. Here's how to do the job yourself:

My hunch is that the alternator is bad.
