I am currently having pressure loss in my precharged water tank whenever we run our large volume items like the clothes washer or bath tub. I am currently running a 20-40 psi configuration on my water tank. I have checked the tank for leaks and have verified the correct pressure, 18 psi, in the drained tank. The pressure switch is kicking on and the pressure holds up for a few minutes but then drops from 20 to 0. Whenever I stop the water in the bath tub, the pressure tank automatically jumps back up to 20 and the tank will slowly build back to 40 and cut off. I have bypassed all types of filtration, rainsoft and whole house filter, and still have the problem. My fear is my submersible well pump is going but would be very grateful for any other thoughts on the matter.

I would unhook the well pipe from the pressure tank and let the pump run to see how much volume it's putting out. It needs to be at least 5 or 6 gallons per minute, hopefully even a little more than that.
