I recently found out that a family member had multiple felony charges brought against them. They claimed they were not aware. Is it possible to be arrested and charged with 8 charges and NOT know? Charges stem from burglary, receiving stolen property, possession of illegal substance, manufacture of an illegal substance, etc. I ind this very hard to believe.

Well you can be arrested without charges being filed. They can be filed later - much later. If something like that happened, it's certainly possible that your family member didn't know about the charges.

It's also possible to have charges levied before one is arrested. Of course, he wouldn't know about those, would he?

If they were arrersted, they were charged with something. There could be additional charges made after they were released, but normally if they do, they would be picked back up again and have their bail bond increased.

Also before they are arrested, they may have dozens of charges made, then arrested.
