I got a letter from debt collection agency which how I understand tries to collect money of my medical bill. Collecting agency's letter states that I have to pay $80. Couple days later, I found that missing bill/letter from hospital. Due date is overdue. Bill from hospital states $110. I guess I just missed my one time bill. I want to pay that bill, but I want to do a right thing and don't want to mess my record. Should I pay the agency or try to pay the hospital directly? Any advice helps. How to act?

Thank you for your time

I had this happen as well. If you pay the collection company you risk the chance of it showing a "settlement" on the account... not good. Pay the $110 to the hospital, call the collection company with a payment confirmation code and make sure they update it with the credit agencys.
