Hi,
I am using a nice looking, high quality chromed brass sink trap with a chromed copper 1-1/4 waste pipe. This has to be joined to standeard ABS 1-1/4 plastic waste pipe under the floor. I'd like to know a suitable adhesive to join the chromed pipe to the ABS, using a normal ABS-cementable collar. I have heard some people use silicone sealant. Does anyone have any ideas about this or other adhesives?
Thank you

Use a compression fitting to couple the metal to the plastic.

There are no adhesives I'm aware of that are approved for this application.

Use an 1 1/4 ABS male adaptor glued onto the end of the 1 1/4 ABS. Onto that connect the brass trap with an 1 1/4 plastic compression nut and a 1 1/4 plastic washer.

Letmetellu Had the right idea. Ask for a 1 1/4" ABS compression fitting (see image). Good luck, Tom
