My husband turned off the water in the kitchen to work on our hot water heater. When he turned the water back on in the whole house, the kitchen no longer had running water. There is water in the bathroom and to the utility room for the washer machine but none to the kitchen faucet. We've turned the water on and off, but he still can't figure out where the problem lies.

Hubby disturbed some crud built up on the pipe walls and now it's clogging the first faucet that made a draw. Remove the aerator from the spout of the kitchen faucet and check and clean the screens. Do you have pressure with the aerator removed? Let me know. Regards, Tom

Removed aerator from the spout and checked screens. Water does come through the screen but not the filter. Still no pressure with aerator removed - but I can see water leaking through the bottom of the faucet contraption. Like it's just underneath where it might be clogged. But I can't screw off the faucet spout because wall is too close. I can also hear the water in the pipes. I'm trying to be Mrs. Handyman and show my husband that we don't have to be plumbers to fix our own stuff. j/k Thanks for your help - Isabelle

OK Isabelle we can help. But first we have to know the brand name of your faucet and its type, one handle or two knobs. Please explain about the filter. You say the water comes through the screens but not the filter. Do you have a inline filter on the kitchen supply? Regards, Tom

Not sure what the brand name is, it is a two knob faucet. As for the "filter", I'm not sure that's what it is I soaked it in Vinegar and now water runs through without a problem, it fits into the screen and is about the size of a dime. We do not have an inline filter. Thanks, Isabelle
