So, I have the equation y= -3(x-2)^2-13
I tried to find the x-intercepts so that I could graph the parabola, but I got this crazy answer:

-2 plus or minus the square root of 39 over negative 3

??

Is there any reason why you're not expecting "crazy answers"?

This has two complex solutions. It does not cross the x axis.

y=-3(x-2)^{2}-13

Set y to 0 and get 2+\frac{\sqrt{39}}{3}i, \;\ 2-\frac{\sqrt{39}}{3}i
