I am a 23 year old female with tiny pinpoint red dots on my chest, neck, and arms. I don't have many-three on my neck, around three on each arm, and 4 on my chest. All blanch out when I apply pressure except for one on my breast and one on my neck. I showed them to my doctor and he said they are cherry angiomas and are nothing to worry about. I didn't think angiomas faded out when pressure is applied, like most of mine do
I am otherwise healthy, have no known diseases, and am not overweight. I used to smoke around 2/3 of a pack of cigarettes a day, but quit 6 months ago:) . I smoked since I was 18 off and on. I run two miles every day. I eat a very healthy diet-no sodas, no fast food, no potato chips:( . I also don't eat beef for religious reasons. I eat lots of chicken and eggs, not much fish because of mercury. I hardly ever drink; sometimes I will have one glass of wine or one beer on my day off. . 5 years ago, when I went to donate blood, my iron was too low. I changed my diet, at the time I was not eating very balanced meals and almost no meat, and when I went back for blood work, my iron was normal. I don't take any medications. I take a women's multivitamen every morning.
I have normal periods, no cramping really. I am healthier that I have ever been except for the weird dots. My doc doesn't want to test me for iron problems, leukemia, etc. because he says I would have other symptoms. He says many people have these. I don't have insurance, no living relatives, am single, and have a low paying job. Most of my money goes for rent. I wonder if my financial troubles are the reason why he doesn't want to investigate this further.
What could cause these? Does anyone have similar dots? Should I demand tests, even though I can't really afford them? I read about them online and am scared about leukemia or some other horrible disease. Please send me an answer to my question! I really don't have anyone to ask about this and am worried. God Bless You!

I agree with the doctor, you would more than likely have more symptoms tha the red dots. My sil had the rash, dizziness, bruises when she had leukemia. I don't think you not having insurance would stop him from doing the proper testing if he thought something was wrong. Also as we age our skin changes, due to wind, sun,smoking... Try to not worry so much and just keep an eye out for them but don't obsess.
