I was thinking of getting my tongue pierced, I really want to get it done but I have a problem. I play rugby at least three times a week and I'm worried that there's a danger to my tongue and the piercing from playing rugby. Does any body have any experience or ideas that can give me some advice?

The overall best thing you can do would be to not get your tongue pierced. There is that slight risk that it could tear, or get ripped out completely.

If you do get it, you could put flexible jewelry in, that way if you bite it it won't hurt your teeth, but you can only change it after the 4-6 week healing period.

Hey I play rugby as well, and I was thinking of getting my tongue pierced. I'm just starting my summer holidays so I was thinking of getting it done then so it will be healed when school starts. What are the risks of playing a match with it in, I also have my eyebrow pierced but I take that out before. So before I do get my tongue done I just want to see what's bests

I play rugby, and I have my tongue peirced. There is ABSOLUTLY no risk in playing with it in... I've played rugby for 5 years and I have had mine in for 5 years while playing so its not that big of a deal :)
