My car's been running perfectly fine, and then last Saturday I started it up to take it in for an oil change, and the engine jerked and then a few seconds later cut out completely. I started it up, tried revving the engine since it seemed like it was having trouble getting things going, but nothing helped. It kept dying, so I had it towed to NAPA Auto Parts. They told me that I need a new ignition module and coil. Of course, I have little history working on cars, but this seems like a perfect time to start. What can I expect once I get the hood open? I'm going to the library tomorrow to check out the repair manual for my cavalier, but was hoping I could know some things before I head there. Will I need any special tools? What's the total expected worktime for a novice on a project like this?
