I have a 92 dodge spirit, the tranny is the spirit and the motor is out of an 87 dodge aries.
went to start and backup today, when I went to put it in drive, would not go just kept going backwards. About an hour later started it and with foot on brake finally got it in drive and put back in the driveway. The shift indicator does not sit on each letter it is past it like the linkage is slipping ===please help

Check linkage adjustment or PRNDL switch on top of the transaxle, which may need replacing.
