Hi... ok so I'm only 15 and I got to little problem and I think it's a possibility that I can be pregnant.I had my last period on aug.10-13 and I guess your suppose to get your period about every 28days so that would have been around the 10th and today is the sep.. 12th and I still haven't got it about how long should I wait to get tested because I usually have my period around the same time the most its ever late is about a day and that's all so its just weird... but about how long should I wait to take a test... and should I have any symptoms yet if I was pregnant?

Wait a week, if it doesn't come in that time then it's a good idea to purchase a test. Your period can fluctuate for many reasons. Also, you should use BC if you're going to have sex.

OK thank you and thank you for the advice ill be sure to do that... but do I buy a test from the store cause my sister just found out she was pregnant. But she took 3 pregnancy tests that she bought and they all said negative than she went to the doctors. And they said she was 10 weeks

You can actually buy a pregnancy test at most Dollar Stores. Wish I'd known that a long time ago; I could have saved money. They keep them up front by the register. They aren't the fancy kind that you pee on; you have to collect your urine with the little dropper in the kit.
Anyway, a pregnancy test that comes back negative (not pregnant) can be WRONG. But if the test is positive (pregnant), it is 99.9% accurate. That's because the chemical that the test is looking for is not ever present unless you are pregnant.
You can go to the Dollar store tomorrow and pick one up, because if you've already missed your period, it's already 5-6 weeks and time enough for the test. If it shows up positive, go to a free clinic and they will test you again, also for free.
Good luck, sweetie, I've been there and done that! You'll be OK.

OK so I think if I don't start by tomorrow morrning I will go to the dollar store and buy one... but when should I take it that night? Or when is the best time to take it?

Morning urine is the most accurate. So, take it first thing in the morning.

Symptoms of pregnancy are different with everyone. I'm not saying you wouldn't feel that sensation, but what you describe could be anything. I wish you luck.

If you were pregnant you would more than likely not be having any symptoms as of yet (other than missed period).

Remember that stress can delay your period. The longer you stress, the longer you can delay your period. Until you find out for sure negative or positive, it is best to relax and allow your period to come (if you are not pregnant).

Whether you turn out pregnant or not, I strongly recommend in the future to take the proper precautions to protect yourself if you must have sex. Your best bet would be to not have sex at all.

That's what I meant hun. The more you stress out about thinking you are pregnant, you could delay your period even further if you are not pregnant.

From this statement "and i guess your suppose to get your period about every 28days so that would of been around the 10th " I am guessing that you don't know the exact amount of time that passes between your periods, or even if they are regular enough to get a proper guess. When you are so young, your periods are rarely regular. Also its important to remember that not everyone runs on a 28 day schedule. This is just an average. Some women run shorter then that, and some longer. I for example run on a 32 day cycle. SO it could be that you aren't even late yet. However, it couldn't hurt to take a test. (esp if its just a dollar store test) Did you have unprotected sex? Any time you have sex, protected or not, you run the risk of getting pregnant. No form of birth control is 100% accurate, but using any form is better then NO birth control. If you aren't using protection, I highly suggest you start. Not only to prevent pregnancy, but also to prevent some many of the other std's out there that can and will drastically change your life(now and in the future) once you get it. Of course the perfect form of protection is abstinence all together, but if not, I suggest you get on two forms of because. (for ex. The pill and a condom) If you take the test and its negative, wait two weeks. If you still don't get your period, take another test. Good luck

Thanks... ok well I took the test yesterday and it said positive so just to make sure I'm going to take another one but the better one the ept on the 21st just to be positive and if that says yes also that's when I'm going to tell my mom cause I don't think it will be to smart to keep it from her...

No you should definitely tell your mom. One positive is usually enough to mean you are pregnant. I'm not trying to scare you, just telling you the truth. False positives are rare.

ok so should i sit her down and talk to her im scared im only 15..and i dont no how to tell her..

Take your other test like you planned.

As far as telling your mom, take responsibility for your actions. Just sit her down and tell her flat out what is going on, and you need to go to the doctor to get it confirmed. Does she know you are sexually active?

Sep 16, 2007, 08:57 PM
Yes.. she knows...

nauticalstar420
Sep 16, 2007, 08:58 PM
yes..she knows...

Well then it may not be a complete shock for her since she had to have known that this was a possibility. Just be as honest and truthful with her as you can.

thank you soooooo much

You're welcome.

You should also start thinking about things and making plans on how you will take care of the baby (if there is one, get it confirmed by a doctor). Its always good to have everything planned out.

Hun, the very first thing you need to do now is go to the store and get on prenatal vitamins. The folic acid is absolutely 100% necessary to prevent neural tube defects (spina bifida to name one). This is absolutely necessary right now. Do not walk, run to the pharmacy to get this, right now!!

First off are you still late? I see you posted this on the 12th and I don't see any answers yet. If you haven't started usually you can get a positive test as soon as the day you were supposed to get your period. Sometimes though you can release an egg late and end up being late. I know how it can drive someone nuts being late and not knowing. I got pregnant with my first child at 17 and come to find out I didn't actually conceive her until the day my period was "due" because I released an egg late in my cycle. If I hadn't gotten pregnant with her I would have been two weeks late for my period. I wish you the best and hope you get the answers you are looking for.
