I was able to successfully delete all adware and spyware from my work laptop using the VX2 plugin by Ad-Aware and Spybot. However, on my home computer I have not been able to delete all the VX2 crap. I've done the same process which has been to download the VX2 plugin, install it, reboot my computer, run Ad-Aware, reboot again, and rerun Ad-Aware... but some VX2 still comes back. Anything you can suggest?

Software should be the last step of any spyware removal process... not the first. If the removal procedure is done out of sequence, your problems will just return the next time you restart your computer. If you’ve used a spyware removal program in the past, then you’ve likely already experienced this.
Try the Spyware-Adware Removal Kit that is available at the link below. By following this comprehensive 11 page, step-by-step document with screen shots, you will be able to restore your computer to like-new condition.

I do not entirely agree with Cremedies' statement. AdAware and Spybot are good products and can safely be used as a first ressource to remove malware.
If they do not work the first time, you may try to run them when started up in "safe mode". If the malware is still not gone then, a simple search in Google will almost always come up with decent removal procedures - without having to go to commercial sites.
For this one, you may try:

As stated, spyware products do a very good job at protecting your PC from 'nasties',but they are not all things to all men-or woman.A good site to visit is Spywareguide.com,where you can learn all sorts of interesting facts.
For removal of VX2,this may mean getting your hands dirty, and messing in the registry. The site link below, tells you how to do this. However,as in all cases,if you don't feel confident at tweaking Redmond code, then leave well alone, and consult someone who can either guide you through the process,or do it for you.
