Hey, I just wondered what everyone's view on thongs and g strings r.
I'm 12 and have been wearing them for about a year and love them. My mummy wasn't too sure about it at first but got used to it. I am worried people will think I'm too young though
How old is everyone else starting to wear thongs etc? And what styles are best? What's your favourite ones?
Kaate.

Bless you sweety heck the fact you wear knickers at all is great in the first place so you prefer to wear a thong what's it got to do with anyone else its about comfort and personal preffernce good for you for standing up for what you like.
I used to wear thongs all the time until I got pregnant and found them more comfortable after all big knickers just ride up your butt anyway.

As I understand them, the main purpose of thongs are to eliminate panty lines. I'm just wondering why a 12 yr old girl is wearing pants so tight she has to worry about panty lines.
katekatekate
Sep 10, 2007, 08:45 AM
I don't think that is the only reason girls wear them.
They just make you look and feel nice.
ScottGem
Sep 10, 2007, 08:53 AM
Maybe you can explain to me how that make you look and feel nice?
As for looking nice, why would they since they are minimalist. No one sees them (Or should be seeing them at your age) and they are nothing but basic strings where they would be different from any other panty. If you have a nice butt (and again a 12 yr old shouldn't be concerned with that) it can show off that better, but why do you need to.
As to feeling nice. I can't imagine walking around with a string in my crack. Of course I'm a guy, but it still boggles the mind. But I can appreciate how older females might want to eliminate panty lines and would be willing to put up with the discomfort for that.

I'm 12 not 5.
I'm old enough to want to look good. They look nice to me when I see myself in them. Its not about other people seeing.
You think I should stop then?

I love thongs. They are surprisingly comfortable and I think they are kind of fun to wear (more fun than my "granny panties" :)
Kate you are right nice underwear can make you feel nice. When I was still on the dating scene I always made sure I had on matching undies and bra. Not because I was planning on anyone seeing them (but me), but because they made me feel special, confidant, and like I was in control. Honestly, I can't explain why it made me feel that way. But, it did.
On that note I have to add, it is important that you wear pants that hide the fact that you are wearing a thong... that thong hanging out above the waistband thing... I am not a fan of that.

No I don't think that. I think that people recognize the purpose of things and they aren't perceived as trashy as when they first came out.
I was kind of playing devil's advocate here. I was trying to see if you would say they made you feel sexy. And I do have a problem with a 12 year old that wants to feel sexy. But I think you just like they way they feel and make you feel and that is fine.

But that's nuffin to do with thongs. Just me being a teen.

I believe that I was in my early teens when I started wearing them. I ride horses, and they do not show under my breeches.
I think you should wear whatever you are comfortable with and what your parents agree too (since you are only 12).

My biggest thong hate is... When a girl bends over and I see that full triangle in the back and I get this terrible image of the rest of the thing. It always seems like a terrible accident, but I have read the texts above and can agree if a thong is used responsibly it can be more of a positive than a negative. LOL, I have seen a few 12 yr old girls flaunt G-strings in the past at the skate park near my home, it makes me a little uncomfortable. Showing off your underwear is common for boys too... Hanging their pants down to their knees but those are usually boxer shorts. If my daughter were twelve I would have to say no to the G-string and then she and her mom would do it behind my back for sure. But I love my daughter and would trust her, this just isn't make up and nails, or even naval exposure. It is very thin underwear being shown when ever you raise your arms or wear low hip jeans that catches the eye of every pervert walking around that is from 11 years old to 90years old. It may not technically be suggestive but it is a fact that they see it and I have a really hard time processing even the notion of allowing my girl @12 to be exposed like that, even to unknowingly entertain the gross minds of many. Please ladies do not send me a long list of disagreements cause I'm a good over protective dad relaying the reasons for why I feel the way I do. Anyway your Mom knows you better than anyone on-here and if she says it's OK by her, than who am I to argue. There are a lot of twelve year old girls on "ask me help desk" that are pregnant and I wish that all they had was a thong problem. Good luck with it all, you seem like you have a great head on your shoulders.

You know what Kate reading your responses is refreshing you are wearing them for you and because they make you more comfortable its personel choice and no one has a right to call you out for that.

I have always thought of thongs as butt floss, but to each his own. My best friend loves them. I prefer tap pants.
My daughter is only six, so she still wears Barbie panties. I would base my decision on her wanting them on the motivation.

My little girl is only 2 and a half genius, but too cute and has crushes on my friends and freaks me out... LOL. But I have very pretty nieces and young cousins that wear clothes that drop my jaw. Yikes! But I must say they are a product of their parents and are all so very well rounded, and I believe they wear "thongs" so very responsibly {as I'm sure you do} that I've never even really thought about it till now. And I think you are a teen, having read your responses to peoples answers and views. When I was 15 I think I had half the brain power that you have shown on here. :-)

Kate I started wearing thongs when I was 16 a year ago I find them to be more comfy but I'm into bakini and boyshorts too ohhh and hipsters but I'd say I wear thongs more .
My opinion is your too young to wear a thong but I have read all your previous posts and you seem mature for being 12.
And as for my thoughts on styles I prefer the g strings with the small triangles in the back seems to feel better and not so noticeable(to me wearing it) like it feels like nothing I sometimes forget I'm wearing undies and have to check

Actually its NOT OK. At 12 kate has to wear what her parents want her to wear. Her parents are still responsible for her and what they say goes.
Now I'm not saying she shouldn't wear them, I've already weighed in on that. But you shouldn't be encouraging her to not listen to her parents (not that I think she wouldn't, she doesn't sound the type).

I love thongs. I started wearing them at 13, almost 14. At that time I wore grannies too sometimes but now I only own thongs/g-strings and maybe like 4 pairs of booty shorts, which I still wear a thong underneath. I like them because they are way more comfortable. Grannies give you a wedgie, but thongs are designed to sit in your crack so you don't have to worry about a whole bunch of cloth wedged up there, there is just the little string or small strip of cloth that's designed to be there. I like stringy g-strings more but I like thicker cottony ones sometimes too. Victorias Secret signature and PINK brands are great. I have a few from aerie (american eagle) aero (aeropostale) and fredricks too. Aerie ones are pretty cool cause the have the band cloth which is scalloped and then a really thin strin that goes between your cheeks so its uber comfy. PM me if you want to talk more about it, I'm just tired of typig. Lol- amy (16)

Hi Kate its not wrong at your age to start to wear them as you are getting older and the thought of wearing big pants is embarresing. I started wearing them around your age and a lot of girls start younger. I think the thing with this type of underwear is that it is seen to be an adult thing and you are soon to be a teenager so you are becoming a young adult. I myself have stopped wearing thm now I am still in my teens but find that lacy hotpants are a lot comfier but they look nicer than big pants and I think that they look better than thongs. (you should try them). Even though they are attractive they can be so uncomfotable and to be honest who is going to see them I would rather go for comfort than look. But if you want to wear thongs there is nothing wrong with that. As for nice styles you can get diamonte ones from dorothy perkins they are pretty or new look is often a good place to buy them and at your age you shouldn't be thinking about nice styles stick to spongebon they are much better then allof the sexier underwear! I think your to young to wear them I started at that age. And I think you should wait until high school with boys find out you wear them they will think you have sex already and that you are quick that you would do it with anybody. Even if you didn't they still lie about it. You can wear once in a blue but don't wear it all the time its bad for you anyway you can maybe get a infection don't wear it to bed either. I'm 18 and I got a 1 year old daughter I no how high school is and middle school. I think you should wait until high school. But if you really want to you should not tell anyone in school about it and don't let it show. People say their comforble they is but its more for sexual stuff that your not ready for yet

Everyone has there own style I wore them for years, I may have started that young but not sure... I had friends that I know were wearing them when they were about 12 or 13. If nobody sees it then why should it matter? Some people think it is pretty slutty. But I don't think it is if you don't try to show it off or anything.

If you want to wear thongs, at your parents let you, then wear them
However, you should realize that thongs (if worn a lot) give teens/women yeast infections.
I feel cute in a pair of boy shorts, or low waisted panties. Thongs are OK. I wear them if I don't want a panty line. But other than that, I think some cute panties.. not granny panties.. can be every bit as cute as a thong..
I saw where you said you wear them under skirts.. Don't do that.. that's just nasty in my opinion.. because if your skirt comes up.. everyone will see everything just about..
Also.. definitely don't let them ride up your back.. in my opinion it looks trashy.. guys may also think you're easy.
If you're going to wear them, wear them like a real lady does.. Every girl should want to come off as classy.
By the way, I am almost 20
I started wearing thongs when I was 14 I think. I suppose every girl is curious about it.
Keep on keeping on.

Thongs are so comfy I hate underwear , I don't think boys can really give input on this topic and for girls unless you've tried a thong you can't discriminate. Most girls start wearing them at 12. ALTHOUGH it is actually unhealthy to wear them too often
