I have three children born in America to a Portuguese father. He has since returned to Europe, after we divorced, but I am trying to get them Portuguese citizenship, as well as retaining their U.S. citizenship. I am an American citizen. Please help! Thank you.

The first thing that needs to be clarified is whether all your children were born after you got married to your former husband.
Secondly, it is important to know if you have registered your marriage and divorce in Portugal.
Only after that is that your children will entitled to the Portuguese citizenship.
As they are children of a Portuguese citizen, they will apply for the native Portuguese citizenship and they would not lose their American citizenship, once that both Portugal and the USA allows the dual citizenship.
I could only provide you accurate information about the procedures, documents and etc after making you some questions.
