I am from quebec canada and stole 45$ worth of stuff at a walmart in ontario, what kind of punishment will I get? And I am 18. It is my first offence.

You will get a large fee to pay the store direct, they will be contacting you directly normally in Canada. You can expect a fine, perhaps community service and a maybe probation.

When you go to court, ask about a "diversion". This suauly put you on probation and if you keep your nose clean your record will be cleared when the probation is done. You will probably have to do some community service as well.

What is a "diversion"

When you ask about it they will explain it. Basically, it's a way of diverting a first offense so it doesn't go on your record.
