When my basement was put in a drain tile was installed below the floor to drain ground water to the sump, so the sump pump could pump it out. The tile is plugged with sand and the water will not drain. I would like to replace the tile, but I am not sure how to prevent the sand from plugging the tile again. Should I put pea stone around the tile, and how much. What about landscape cloth? I have the floor broke up and the old tile out. Should I put in perforated plastic tile? What kind?
