I have an Rheem outdoor A/C unit, I just replaced the motor and need help hooking up then new motor and capacitor. The new motor is a.O Smith 220 vAc. Single phase. My old capacitor was used on both the compressor itself and the fan motor. My new capacitor also only has 2(4posts) while the old had 3(four posts). Do I need an extra capacitor for the fan?
My old motor only had 3 wires while the new has 5, Green=ground, brown which it says goes on either side of the cap. A black that I am assuming goes to a relay
And a yellow??
I have 2 wires that went to the existing cap. Purple from the compressor and red from the incoming contactor. Where do they go on the new cap?
My question is where does the yellow go from the motor and where should I put the 2 previous wires that were on the cap. Should I get a second cap?
motor
brown------------0
brown------------0<------cap.
----------------------yellow
Line
----------------------Black
Any help from anyone on this would be greatly appricated.
Thanks
