I need help making a temporary 220 volt outlet cord. I have the female 220 v receptacle and two extension cords. I need this to connect a window AC. The electrician cannot come until mid next week. It is very hot here. He told me to put one these cords together for a temporary fix. He warned me that once one 110 v cord was plugged in the other plug would be hot. He said I could obtain a wiring diagram on the internet. However, I have not found one. I need to know how to wire the two hot/black wires and the two neutral/white wires. To the 220 v receptacle.
Thank you for your help!

Sorry, but what your "electrician" proposed is dangerous, unsafe, and unethical. If you think it's hot now, wait till the fire apparatus is parked on your lawn.
How is the AC suppose to be wired once it is done permanently? Is any cable installed for the outlet? How did he leave it?
I would rather see you do a more permanent connection than this extension cord idea. We can help with getting you set up in a safer manner.

He took your money and left you with that advice? Yeah, it could be made to work if you had a couple of near by circuits with plenty of spare capacity on opposite legs. Did he explain how to determine that? Did he explain that plain old #18 extension cords wouldn't do the job? I really wonder about some of the people that are in the business. I wonder about some here that seem to be working plumbing, heating, and electrical. Are they licensed in all 3? I really wonder if you want him coming back and doing any more work. Does he have a permit, and will the work be inspected?

If your place uses conduit, and not romex, you may be able to get pair of 12's to AC, from panel. Sounds Like a local Electrical Contractor down here who uses a Male/Male cord for generator hookups, Very Dangerous.

I would say that before he did any work on my house, I would want to see a copy of his license ( but city and electicial ) and I would want to see that he was insured for his work, all contractors I use have to supply me with a copy of their liabiility insurance and a copy of their workers comp insurance before a workmen will step foot on my property.
This sounds more like some of the "good" ole boys that are wiring a hog house more than a professional.

There is a big difference between what will work, and what will work SAFELY. Find another electrician before you have to find another house.
