Has anyone ever received any emails that are considered spoof type of emails. I have gotten them many times this year. A couple of them came from a bank that I do not have an account with. Another came from Ebay which I also don't have an account with. A few came from Pay Pal which I also don't have an account with, but one of the Pay Pal emails came from a compnay that I do have an account with saying that my Pay Pal was used with them even though I don't have an account. Did you know that a lot of these types of emails can be emailed to the company that it claims to be from and than when you forward the email you usually get a response back saying it's a spoof type of email. Than they tell you what can be done to prevent emails like this. Here is what I found out from doing this. I dion't use Outlook Express so that part of the response I got wouldn't help me out. I don't really trust putting things I don't know about on the computer I use, but if others do trust downloading things on the computer they use than I hope this can help others not have to get emails like this in the future or know what to do in the future if you do get these types of emails.

How are companies able to get email addresses that use for instance the name of the compnay they are running such as Ebay, PayPal, etc as part of the email address?
How come sometimes when a person finds an email address on a website they want to use to contact the site it doesn't always work.

What types of emails do people use? Does anyone use Gmail? If so do you like it. I use Gmail as one my emails because I like how when you send or receive emails using the same email to reply to it keeps that email with the other sent and received responses. It's faster to remember what was said if you keep the email. With Hotmail and Yahoo each email you send or receive is a separate email so you have to go through emails to find something you want to refer to if you keep the email.
The bad thing with Gmail is that if someone emails you a picture and you want to save the picture to the computer after you view it by right clicking it and going to save picture as it won't save right if you choose jpg as the way to save it. What happens is you get a box with no image in it. With Yahoo it makes you download the picture to save it and than the picture shows up the way it should. The good thing with Gmail is you can click on view and the picture enlarges so you can see it better, but with Yahoo I think you have to dowload the picture to view larger.

I'll bet when you mouse over the questionable link (look in lower bottom corner of IE or Firefox). It will look similar, but will actually be a re-direction and have an embedded link to somewhere else. This is what you have to pay attention to.

The only thing you can do is ignore the emails and/hope your spamcatcher catches them.

You can get spam that is marked "from" any email they want. They do this by bouncing the emails around various fake email addresses so you can't find the actual person that sent it. If you get weird emails like this just go the website of the company that it's supposed to be from, don't follow links in the email, and check if your account has been compromised (if you have one)

It's just junk mail and mostly you shouldn't worry about it.
