I moved into my basement a year ago and one night I was up and I saw a shadow next to my bookcase the size of a child. Also I have a couple deck of cards and I put them together in a way so they don't get mixed up together. Well like 4 or 5 times I went to get my cards and they were mixed up. Also one night my TV went off cause I leave it on at night and my mom said she didn't turn it off. I don't know about any deaths in my house beside my hamsters dying but only on died in my basement the same day I moved down there but she was old. Can someone tell me what's happening?

Shadows have a way of playing with our imagination. And the TV could have a problem, but the mixing up of your cards has to be someone's work.

Another thing is as I do not believe the dead persons soul comes back to haunt, that being the case there need not have been a death in your house to have ghosts in them.

Ghosts are beings that exist, and they are hidden to our eyes most times, but there are times when they are seen and felt.
There could be a ghost in your room, especially if it had been empty for too long as ghosts tend to inhabit abandoned places a lot of times.

If nothing more happens do not worry about this incident,
If something more happens then try to ask whatever it is to politely leave the house.

I think I'm making my spirit mad. Last night I was up at 6 a.m. tryimg to sleep and I thought I heard knocking on the other side of the basement cause we have two rooms downstairs. Also I forgot to say this but one night I was going to sleep and while my eyes were closed I thought I heard someone say "Hey!" in a firm voice. If I do have spirits I don't think there dangerous cause I don't show extreme fear but I still get startled sometimes. Also I pray mostly every night and leave a light on. Sometimes I feel a chill even when I'm covered up.

Omg! I totally understand you JDW1889.
When I was younger (6yrs old)i saw a dark shadow who was wearing a cape, an old abraham looking tall hat and was hunchback/fat (seriously!) it was in my grandparents restroom and it walked through the wall and then when I told my mom she told me she saw the same thing when she was younger except it was a skeleton wearing that same type of hat and she saw it in the room I sleep in now! (I live with my grandparents and they've been living there for about 36 yrs now)
Then like when I was (12 yrs old) we had a couple of visitors over at my grandmas house we were all outside chatting, etc. so they told me to go inside and grab some drinks; I turned on the kitchen lights and all the other lights were off but then!. when I looked further into the living I saw a dark black shadow like an older man sitting on my couch! It was looking down with its hand crossed like it was waiting for something... then (no joke) it turned its head towards me and looked straight at me it had red eyes and it smiled it really smiled but like an evil smile omg I was so scared... I ran outside I got my brother he came back inside with me but it was gone and he didn't believe me...
I haven't seen anything since, but I still get scared.
My uncle and mother always tell me they saw scary things in my grandparents' house too.
Also, I sleep in the room my uncle and mother say they saw ghosts/ dark spirits in when they were little.
Like about a yr ago my aunt spent the night and slept in my room and then she came out running saying "a woman, a woman!" she said there was a woman just standing at the foot of her/my bed! I haven't seen anything so every night I sleep with the blankets over my head like no joke so if you guys believe me please let me know but it's real scary and also I want to know why I haven't seen anything for almost 7 yrs now. And the only ones who have seen things were; my mom, uncle, aunt and I.

If the spirits are friendly, I'd feel kind of honored. A lot of times, I have very loving thoughts at bedtime of my relatives, and friends that have passed beyond 'our world'. If I dream vivid dreams of them after those 'thoughts', I warmly accept them, and cherish the visit.
